Does Facebook Grow Friendships…?

Or any other Social Network for that matter, but for argument’s sake i’ll use Facebook as a prime example. That question has been puzzling me for a while now, and i’d love feedback on it. The things that people say to each other on Facebook  i’m skeptical about them saying it to each other face to face. The bonds that they share they’d never discuss in person, but they don’t have a problem letting the world know what they share online, some would say it’s easier to do online than it is offline, but is it really?

With that said such actions impulses  have caused bonds to grow and let people realize how much they appreciate each other, what they feel is indeed mutual and Facebook seems like the safest way to say it. I’ve also come to the conclusion that Facebook is a good avenue to find out what people think of you, i know for a fact that the things said there would NEVER be uttered in person, but maybe it’s just me, maybe some people don’t have a problem letting there friend(s) know how much they mean to them whether offline or online, what about you?

  • Narcissism Yes!!

In this age of cyberselves the idea of spilling your guts openly without showing physical reaction has become the new sexy.

Facebook is a platform designed to perfectly share your views, have great conversations with strangers and flirt with prospects without feeling cheesy and embarrassed.

Personally it aids to my boredom, definitely boosts my confidence and a great avenue to vent my emotions a lot better while building/breaking relationships :p

But I do occasionally wonder: Am I wearing a different mask for each individual or group I interact with? What impressions do I usually give of myself? How do I perceive myself? Weird thoughts? I think not.

I'm a Facebook addict but that shouldn't come as a surprise right Gordy?
