The Thing About Us Jamaicans…..
Articles, Jamaica/Politics April 17th, 2008
I really love my country…ALOT, i love every aspect of Jamaican life, the people are beyond description. Everything we do, we do it well, regardless of what it is,we have some of the most creative ( And when i say creative i mean creative, i mean seriously, where else in the world can you find someone who makes an orange peeler from scratch with everyday tools, a man who can open cans with his teeth, climb electrical pools with his teeth and many more unreal abilities), and resilient people anywhere in the world; we are one of the most recognized Caribbean islands out there and regardless of our size we seem to stand out anywhere we go.
We are known for many things, good and bad, whether it be our horrible crime rate, our exceptional atheletes, charasmatic singers, or our anti-gay stance, i could go on and on to state the plethora of things we are noted for, but that would take a while so i’ll spare the details…use your imagination, because once you can imagine it, then someone in Jamaica has probably done it.
We are very proud people, and regardless of the times we still seem to make the best of any situation, as we all know we’re in challenging times, food prices are high and still going up, fuel is getting more and more expensive, , all around the price of everything is being jacked up, hurricanes are getting more common and deadly and with all of is this happening we still have a smile on our face.

Gordon, apparently, your spirits are somewhat different today with respect to Jamaica. I remember reading your 2008 New Years prediction regarding Jamaica and it is in contravention to the views that you are now positing. As a matter of fact, it was all doom and gloom, even a tsunami was predicted.Your new found nationalism is very positive and intriguing.Indeed, there must be some revelation or epiphany with respect to your radical transformation regarding the land of wood and water, despite all its sores, scabs and warts.Brethren, nothing is wrong with loving your country, and displaying a sense of nationalism and patriotism.RESPECT!!

Amen to that! Couldn’t have said it better myself. It’s nice to hear a Jamaican bigging up his country for once.
