Now I Know Why I Don’t Watch Rising Stars….
Articles, Interesting, Jamaica/Politics, Rant October 20th, 2007
Everyone residing in Jamaica must at one point in time heard of Rising Stars….to the imaginary American readers that read my blog…rising stars is basically Jamaica’s American Idol. Now avid Rising Stars fans must have by now heard what went down with one of the contestants.
Kyino Cunningham, one of the competition’s finalist was caught on video doing the thing we Jamaicans hate the most….getting too close another man…and i mean real close. Now i’m not one to support this ungodly lifestyle, but at the same time people should be free to do what they want to do in the freakin’ confines of there bedroom, not being videotaped, dude seriously you think this wouldn’t hit the road?
A word of advice, you might want to avoid coming back to Jamaica for a while, we’re not that Americanized yet, homosexuality is not fully accepted here, unfortunately it’s getting there, but people still dropping out for dem tings deh man….FIRE!!!….no pun intended.
Now this isn’t a rumor, i have this on video, i hear some people talking about “video editing” and saying that they put his face on someone else’s body, but if you were computer savvy then you’d know that’s highly unlikely or probably impossible, if that was the case then the edit would probably be obvious. I have the video for anyone who wants to see, i’d post it here, but i don’t know the legality of it all so i don’t want to distribute it widespread, can someone advice me on the legal aspect of this? Am i allowed to have the video up for download?
Anyhow for those of you who don’t know him; you can view his rising stars profile here

I got the video tooo and the bwoy a BATTY BOY!!!!!! nuff said ….. fortunately there are not much laws in Jamaica applicable to dealing with inter-net activities. so you would not be breaking any Laws of the land, if you did so…. BUT!!! however the young man (batty bwoy) can take you to court and sue you for causing injury to him which is a likely possibility that he could win based on our libel laws out here … even tho’ it is him in the video, doesn’t mean he can’t sue and win…. all he needs to prove is that you caused him harm and you did it knowing that your actions could and wuld have casued him injury.

Hey if you really scrutinize the video properly you’ll see that they were in a hotel room …. plus obviously the videographer was clearly intent on blackmail for reason of get in on the action ….. *shakes head side to side* Gays are always their worst enemies in Ja trust me on this.
Why i mention the hotel …. do we rent room to two men in Ja now???? DAMN!!!!

I pretty much figured some Yardie blogger would post about this. I saw the video, and trust me, if there was photo editing done, it was by a real pro! Kyino’s done in Ja!

Yeah, can I see the video too? Can’t believe that this guy allowed himself to be outed like this. How stupid. Was he high?
I saw several Rising Star clips with him and thought that he had a good chance of winning. Pity.
I noticed that there was no mention of it in the Gleaner. Jamaicans are getting tolerant after all.
