What Purpose Has Mark Shields Served?

I seriously don’t see what purpose Mark Shields has served here in Jamaica, can anyone elaborate on any major achievements of his?, well he did achieve speaking Jamaican Patios, He’s gotten a nice tan, his gut is getting huge and some other irrelevant stuff, but seriously he’s made no dent in crime.
What also bothers me is the fact that we hire people from another country to come and clean up our mess which is so pathetic, what; everyone here is pathetic? we can’t take care of our own issues?If i’m wrong though….please tell me, tell me why we’re stilll paying, personally i think he should pack his bags and go home, because he isn’t worth a rat’s ass.

He was here really to stream line the whole system of policing and bring it to first world standards… but what nobody didn’t tell, was that we ain’t got the money to implement any of those changes. So he ended up being here just for political imagery… and nothing eles plus the money is good.

I don’t see any improvement in the force since he has joined the JCF. But at least he can speak proper English and sounds intelligent…

Look yah now…..did you expect the man to appear and crime to disappear? Oh please! I am speaking as someone who has studied Criminology and I am going to ask Dutch Pot to come over and address this.
Crime is not Mark Shields’ business only…it’s yours and mine. He has made some inroads on the crime scene….trust mi…it could have been worst! Don’t blame the man for enjoying himself…it’s us Jamaicans that hype him up true him white. Busha mentality!

White or Black it makes no difference to me; what bothers me is the fact that we needed someone with crime expertise from abroad, couldn’t i local do his job?

I always ask….WHAT WERE WE EXPECTING???? Crime cannot be solved by one man….the one man has to design techniques to extract information from people and use that information to solve issues. That means there has to be community involvement. No, he hasn’t ceased crime….but remember that the public at large are cycnical when it comes to the JCF, especially if you’re from the inner-city….the mere fact that he has been able to get people talking should be measured as progress. Not sticking up for him but I know it could be a lot worst….

It is interesting how we are seeking help from the Bristish to solve our problems of crime, when they are currently in the process of seeking the same help for England from the Americans.
